Reviewing RealDose Weight Loss Formula No. 1: Why It Works and Why It Doesn’t

Are you fighting your own battle of the bulge with little or no success? Are you tired of trying to diet and exercise your way to the body you want? Every weight loss supplement seems to claim miraculous results; how do you separate fact from fiction? Keep reading to learn more.

Weight Loss Formula No.1 from RealDose is a weight loss supplement that promises to help users lose weight in as little time as possible by addressing the main issues associated with fat accumulation and storage in the body.

RealDose NutritionThe product is currently being heavily advertised in many websites, with most having reviews that seem too good to be true. This is why I decided to check and see what the real deal is about Weight Loss Formula No.1.

The Manufacturer

RealDose Nutrition, the company that manufactures and markets Weight Loss Formula No.1 guarantees consumers to provide supplements with “the right ingredients at the real dose”. When you visit their website you’ll see that the company does not only offer supplements that are supposedly all-natural, but they offer a lot of information on various health topics as well.

In all my years in the health and fitness community, it was just until recently that I heard about Real Dose Nutrition. In fact, I would’ve probably stayed unaware of it if a friend hadn’t told me about it and its vigorous efforts at marketing Weight Loss Formula No.1. With a bit of research, I learned that the company been in business for a little over 4 years and up until recently has not been active in marketing their products.

RealDose Mission StatementWhat Weight Loss Formula No.1 Offers

My first impression of Weight Loss Formula No.1 was that it was another one of those weight loss supplements that promise to help you lose weight in next to no time like magic. Upon further inspection though, the product did not contain the usual “recipe” that most diet pills have in their active ingredients list. What I did see however were herbs that have been cultivated in various parts of the world and are quite popular in those regions for their medicinal benefits. Unlike most other supplements and diet pills on the market today, Real Dose contains ingredients that are proven to regulate the way your hormones function in order to promote and sustain weight loss.

For starters, Weight Loss Formula No.1 contains 340 mg of Siberian Rhodiola Rosea extract that is known in many medical communities as a cortisol regulator. The level of cortisol you have in your body plays a huge role in the formation of belly fat, and Rhodiola Rosea helps reduce these to healthier amounts so one can say goodbye to that spare tire around the midsection. Aside from this, the product also contains 900 mg of Betel Extract and Dolichos Biflorus which are known to help suppress one’s appetite and regulate metabolism in order to eat less and lose weight faster. Weight Loss Formula No.1 also has 400 mg of Decaffeinated Green Coffee that is known to help in suppressing one’s cravings for sweets and regulate blood sugar levels in the body by increasing the sensitivity of its insulin receptors.

Lastly, the product also contains 15 mg of pepper. Yes, believe it or not, pepper is claimed to be quite helpful in increasing one’s metabolism by triggering a bodily process called thermogenesis. It also allows the body to absorb more nutrients from the food being ingested.

How It Works

Users of Weight Loss Formula No.1 are advised to take a veggie capsule three times a day or one for every main meal. If you’re taking the supplement, you are required to ingest it 30 minutes prior to eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner in order to have the capsule working by the time you sit down and consume your meal. Dr. Steven Sisskind, a co-owner and somewhat spokesperson for the company, also recommends following the meal and nutrition plan enclosed with every package of Weight Loss Formula No.1. Although results may vary from individual to individual, there are users from various reviews I’ve come across with who have seen weight loss in as little as two days.

So how do all these ingredients work together to produce weight loss results? The answer is quite a bit technical, so bear with me while I try to make it as easy as possible.

Video Presentation about Hormone that Prevent Weight LossIn a video presentation, Dr. Sisskind discusses 4 hormones that wreak havoc with any weight loss effort if they are left unchecked. These are adiponectin, ghrelin, insulin, and cortisol. Adiponectin is a hormone responsible for triggering the burning of fat in the body which is then used as fuel for energy. People who are overweight tend to have low levels of this hormone, which is why the tendency for them is to gain more weight and thus decrease adeponectin levels even more. Ghrelin on the other and is also called the hunger hormone which is responsible for triggering the brain’s response to food cravings especially at night. If you can’t stop your cravings for food, you probably have ghrelin levels that are higher than normal, therefore pushing your brain to emit a hunger signal.

According to Dr. Sisskind, insulin or the lack of it can also play a huge factor why people have a hard time losing weight. Insulin is responsible directing glucose in the blood to the various muscles in order for it to be used as energy. When the body becomes insulin resistant, the glucose in the blood will not be stored in the muscles but will instead be stored as fat. It is therefore important that one maintain a balance of insulin in the body in order for the sugar in the body to be burned as energy. On the other hand, the body releases the cortisol hormone whenever it is in some kind of stress, and while this is good in some form or another, it also increases one’s cravings for sweets as well as the tendency to be depressed when in a sticky situation. Cortisol also breaks down muscle instead of fat, and the less muscle you have the lesser your chances of ever losing weight.

Now, the ingredients included in Weight Loss Formula No.1 target all these hormones and regulate them in order for the user to feel more energized and less likely to overeat. Picture it as someone who is suffering from hormonal imbalance. For the condition to be corrected, there is a need to neutralize the cause of the imbalance, and this is what the ingredients in Weight Loss Formula No.1 promise to deliver.

My Experience with the Product

Although I am not what you can call overweight, the problem I have is belly fat, and if you’ve done some reading you know that belly fat actually increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks and strokes. After reading the literature on Weight Loss Formula No.1 and watching Dr. Sisskind’s video, I finally decided to give it a try and purchased a single bottle for $67. Each bottle has 90 veggie caps which was a good 30 days’ supply.

Clinical Research Done on Weight Loss Formula No.1 IngredientsI am now on the second week of taking the pills as of this writing and have lost 5 lbs so far. Although I’ve seen some results, I have not quite decided whether it is because of the pills or because of the meal and exercise plan I’ve decided to follow. I plan to go on with just the pills for the 3rd week so it would give me a better idea of whether or not the results are mainly due to Weight Loss Formula No.1. As of this moment however, I can say that the product works to a certain extent because I don’t feel as sluggish as I usually do and I no longer feel hungry every so often. I figure the hormone imbalance aspect is true since I’ve seen the effects.

Pricing and Recommendation

RealDose Nutrition offers 3 supplement packages for Weight Loss Formula No. 1. A month’s supply goes for $67 while a 90-day supply will set you back $179. If you need to lose more than 30 lbs. you can also take advantage of the 180-day supply for $327. All orders can be ordered through Amazon and come with a 365-day money back guarantee. This is actually good considering you can try the product and have a year to request a refund if it does not work out for you and your weight loss efforts.

Will I recommend Weight Loss Formula No. 1? There’s no reason not to, seeing that it delivers as far as its promises. However, I must forewarn you that this is not a magic pill. Taking Weight Loss Formula No. 1 does NOT give you the license to indulge in as much food as you want and still expect to see results – it simply doesn’t work that way as much you would want to believe. Moderation is still the key here, and if you combine the right exercises and follow the provided meal plan to a T, you can and will lose weight with the product. The science is proven, and the results are real! Just make sure you consult your doctor before purchasing the product. As with any weight loss supplement, advice from your doctor can make all the difference in the world especially if you are under certain medications or have any condition you need to be careful of.

Once I obtain the desired weight, do I have to stay on realdose and at what dosage or frequency?

  3. Emma brown November 11, 2014 at 6:15 pm #

Every doet pill I have ever tried always tells me to “exercise and follow an exercise program”. If I did that I would lose wait anyway..sp why spend hard-earned money when I could do it without pills??

Pills just assist… but without a decent exercise and diet plan, you won’t meet the ‘calories in, calories out’ requirement.

I’m desperate to loose weight but I’ve been taken to many times, I have to see some proof a lot of proof. If it sounds to good to be true……..

    James –

For what it’s worth, I’ve been using Realdose for two months, and am really pleased with the results. Before I started using it, I spent a couple of months counting calories and exercising pretty rigorously and lost no weight at all – extremely frustrating. Two months ago, I started taking Realdose, and I’ve been following exactly the same eating and exercise plan as before – but have lost 7 pounds. That might not seem like a lot – but compared to the 0 pounds I had lost in the previous two months, it seems like a miracle to me! 😉 I’m within 2-3 pounds of my goal weight, and feel wonderful.

I received the RealDose Weight Loss Formula No. 1 on 02/24/2016. Noticed after the first week I was feeling better and had loss 4 pounds. Than I started breaking out with a rash that started on my back and than moved to cover nearly all my body. It was big round red spots mixed with little raised bumps and it all itched. I went to a dermatologist and received a prescribe for a crème and some pills. I stopped taking the Real Dose pills. The red spots are drying up but still itch. Has this happened to anyone else?

Okay, I’m going to explain the stuff that this review missed and what is actually going on with this product. For anyone who cares.

Until recently I was a medical student in Australia and had to leave my program for personal health issues. I did 3 years of medical school. Why am I telling you this (especially when there might not be anyone who believes me)? Because I can tell you that everything the Real Dose advertising is based on is bona fide and that other people can tell you the same thing. In your first 3 years of medical school you learn comprehensively about the hormones and regulatory functions of the gastroeosophageal tract and associated systems, and anyone who has done similar study, including doctors and medical researchers, will be familiar with it – it definitely isn’t new stuff.

So pro 1: everything this product is based on and how it works is genuine and something any med student or doctor is familiar with. You don’t have to take my word for it – ask your GP or anyone you know who has studied the correct anatomy and physiology and they’ll be able to explain it to you. You can even check out physiology and histology texts (if your histology book gives a run-down of main cellular mechanisms the information should be there – although note that really rudimentary first year med student introductory books to physiology wont necessarily go into the detail you’ll want).

Now for the tricky bit. First off, this review above is misleading. The product is based not on regional naturopathy but on double-blind placebo-based trials that other scientists have already published papers on. I’ve read all of the papers and they are all genuine and verified – you can access them yourself if you want. Basically what this company has done is pull together all these drugs that have already been scientifically proven by evidence-based medical research and that most people are familiar with and gather them together. Some of these products have already been used by big companies that make dietary supplements, but it is very rare to find these drugs used in the quantities and with the production mechanisms that occur in the medical trials (why? Because it’s incredibly expensive to get the right stuff from the right place in the right dose and treated in the correct manner). According to this company’s information and advertising, however, they ARE. Unlike medications, companies producing supplements don’t have to give you stuff that is guaranteed to work, but they can’t lie about their ingredients – I don’t know much about the legal side of things but I’m fairly sure it’s against the law to lie about what exact ingredients are going into your product and the dosage (although someone else might want to check that) – so it’s pretty easy to check the ingredients used in “Weight Loss Formula No. 1” against the academic papers this product is supposedly based on to make sure it’s the real deal.

Pro 2: So, unless this company is lying (and hence breaking the law?), all the ingredients in this product match up with the corresponding double-blind placebo-based trials and their corresponding papers. It is really based on researched science!

This really does seem to be the real deal, but a word of warning. This is real medicine, not a miracle pill. It is NOT going to work instantly and it definitely isn’t going to work in 2 weeks. The body does not work that way and if you are taking something that does do that it is probably doing something unhealthy to your body. Also take into account that body weight fluctuates week to week as well. If this stuff works as it is supposed to after taking the pills for a month or so CORRECTLY you’ll start seeing results.

So, that’s it. Everything I’ve said can be verified by anyone who has done similar study and you can check out the academic papers this product is based on. I’m not sure if you’ll have to pay to subscribe to different places to get access to the papers or not because I cant remember what subscriptions I still have going, but Universities generally give you free access.

I started taking this product two years ago. Consecutively, I learned about nutrition and exercise and incorporated them into a healthier lifestyle.
I have now lost 65 pounds and am a size 8, and am within 20 pounds of my ideal weight. I have never felt better.
It’s worth a try. What do you have to lose?

  9. Samantha Beamer June 9, 2016 at 10:20 pm #

Hi Erik, I have been using Realdose for alot longer and am pretty convinced it is the pill because I have dropped 4 dress sizes and had tried every diet imaginable and nothing worked for me before. Do you notice a lift in your mood? That is something I didn’t expect but that I like.

    • MD June 10, 2016 at 9:19 pm #

      Hi Samantha,

I am curious to know about your experience, how long have you taken the pills?
      Are you still taking it.
