Celebrities are able to get their hands on absolutely anything, because nothing costs too much. However, this makes them quite susceptible to purchasing stuff that doesn’t help at all, just because it is expensive and exclusive. Without looking into whether something works or not, let’s take a look at some of the weirdest celebrities treatments that are out there.
Madonna and Eva are two women who are known to use baby’s placentas as part of their beauty regime. Naturally, this does not mean they are on hospital maternity wards trying to get their hands on a new placenta and rubbing this all over their face. Instead, someone has marketed this product for them.
The ladies use a face cream called “Placental” which uses babies’ placentas to repair aging skin.
It has to be said that both Madge and Eva look absolutely fantastic, so perhaps there is some truth in it…
Treatment with leeches has been around for thousands of years. It is still used in hospitals for people with large wounds, as the leeches stop the areas of skin around the wound from putrefying. Demi Moore, however, uses leeches to simply clean her blood. She believes that the leeches help to detoxify her blood, but she assures everybody that these are not leeches taken straight from a swamp, but are instead highly trained medical leeches.
I’ve always been somebody looking for the cutting edge of things that are for optimizing your health and healing, so just a week ago I was in Austria doing a cleanse and part of the treatment was leech therapy.
It sounds a bit creepy, but the reality is that leech treatment has been around for centuries, so perhaps there is some truth in it.
How nice would it be if we could all eat Beluga caviar whenever we wanted to. It is the creme de la creme when it comes to celebrity foods. It isn’t, in actual fact, particularly nice, tasting more of salty sea water than anything else, but it is one of those things that you eat for the status. A little bit like raw oysters. Angeline Jolie, however, uses them for her health treatment. She is known to use caviar creams as a facial and overall body treatment, particularly to get rid of her bulging veins.
In sessions lasting up to three hours, Jolie is swaddled like a mummy to sweat out toxins before being smothered all over in the body cream. It promises to drench the skin with moisture and nourishment and combat loss of firmness and slackened skin.
Is there any truth in this one? Well, the jars of cream cost $400 a go, which is nothing to a celebrity, but it may just be that this is one of those treatments that is expensive for the sake of it. On the other hand, Jolie does always look really good…
Now this is an interesting one, because we could potentially make this ourselves and use it at home. It is said that Halle Berry puts coffee grounds into her own shower gel and that this is what keeps her butt looking firm. Best of all, this isn’t an expensive treatment, but you can literally make this at home.
Take about a half cup or so of yesterday’s USED coffee grinds (NOT decaffeinated!) and mix them together with just a little bit of olive oil and put the mixture in an old nylon stocking. […] About 10 minutes before getting into the shower, vigorously rub the coffee grind mixture over your “trouble areas” like your hips, butt, belly, or thighs. […] Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes and then rinse it off in the shower.
Sounds worth a try right?
