Reviewing USANA Reset: What You Can Expect from the Product

Reset from USANA Health Sciences is a weight management program that offers consumers the chance to safely lose excess weight by replacing highly glycemic foods with the supplements and products included in the Reset kit. According to the company, Reset allows people to realize that losing weight and keeping healthy does not have to be that difficult. There are several things that made me take notice of the Reset program, chief of these was the warm reception that most health enthusiasts have given it. Let’s take a look at what Reset has to offer and whether it’s worth it.

What the Reset Kit Entails People who are interested in trying out Reset receive a 5-day meal replacement kit that includes 15 Nutrimeal shakes in different flavors, 5 USANA Oatmeal Raisin Nutrition bars, 5 AM/PM HealthPak Nutrition packets, 5 Peanut Butter Crunch Nutrition bars, a program guide, an instructional DVD, and a fridge magnet with a motivational message on it. These will serve as the primary source of nutrition during the first 5 days of the Reset program, allowing the body to undergo a cleansing process and decrease – if not totally get rid of – cravings for sugar and carbohydrates that cause weight gain. All of the contents of the Reset Kit are manufacture by USANA, and if you’re not familiar with the company, it was founded in 1992 by Dr. Myron Wentz and has since then produced a variety of health and nutritional supplements as well as weight management products. To date USANA operates in and outside the US, with international affiliates selling their products to people all over the world. Reset Kit from USANAHow Reset Works Before I go into detail, I would like to point out that Reset is not like most weight management programs in the market seeing that the 5 days are actually designed as a cleansing period. By cleansing, I don’t mean the usual cleanse that most diets have to offer but rather cleansing the body of its sugar and carb cravings along with the toxins that have accumulated over the years. Once the 5-day reset is over, the body can now start fresh, allowing it to lose the fat through proper diet management and exercise. This is when weight loss becomes the focus of the individual, using the program guide and instructional DVD to ensure that excess pounds are shed and never regained. Aside from taking in USANA food products and nutritionals, the program also encourages increased intake of fruits and vegetables as well as increased water consumption. Moreover, program experts recommend at least 30 minutes of brisk walking each day while doing Reset, with strenuous exercises avoided in the first 5 days. Nutritional Plan under ResetBy continuing with the Reset program, users are expected to experience weight loss up to 5 lbs. in the first 5 days and a gradual 2 lbs. each week for 12 weeks. I have read a lot of feedback that say 2 lbs. is not quite what they expected, but the truth is 2 lbs. per week is a healthy weight loss rate as compared to what fad diets offer that result in drastic yet unhealthy shedding of unwanted pounds. My Experience with Reset Reviews and high ratings are what prompted me to try Reset, but what I was really looking for was a cleaning diet at first. After reading the literature on the USANA website however, I was convinced that the product was worth a try. The first couple of days are usually the hardest, what with the low-glycemic food you will consume. I was quite unnerved at how my body was too dependent on sugar and carbs during the first day that I tried Reset, but it did get better on the third day as I adjusted to the taste of the USANA bars and shakes. After the 5 days were over, I lost 4 lbs. of excess weight, and this is not just water weight that one usually loses when going through a diet. Once the 5-day cleanse was over, I continued to follow the program guide, religiously waking up at 6AM and exercising or walking to get my metabolism into high gear.

What’s good is that since my body was now rid of all dependency from too much sugar, I felt quite active and less sluggish. It’s now my 6th week on the program and have lost about 15 to 18lbs total. For a person who has battled with near-obesity, the lost weight is clearly evident especially in terms of being able to do physical activities that were once a no-no on my list. I plan to see the program through the end just so I can determine how much more of those unwanted pounds I can lose while under Reset. Three Goals by the Reset ProgramProduct Pricing and After Sales Service The Reset Kit sells for $119.94 on the USANA website but take note that the actual contents of the kit may not be available in other countries especially if you’re ordering from outside the US. For this, USANA experts have alternatives that can help fill in the gaps in the Reset program and they work just as well as the original food products that are included. I have no complaints about customer service either, as there has always been someone who helped with questions and concerns that I had about the products and the program as a whole. However, I strongly suggest that you speak with a health care expert or your doctor before embarking on the Reset journey. Some people have proven to be allergic to some of the ingredients in the food products regardless of how organic or mild they seem to be.

All in all, Reset is one weight loss management program that I can personally recommend to those who really want to change their lifestyles and eating habits for the better. It just takes one product that can act as a catalyst to your weight loss goals, and Reset may just be what you need to get going and enjoy a healthier and slimmer body. Have you tried USANA Reset? I did this diet in March 2009 & lost 10 lbs in 2 wks without exercises but I wasn’t really dieting or watching what I was eating before doing the reset. In Jan 2010 I started exercising & on & off the wagon eating healthier &/or dieting. I tried low carbs for 3 months with minimal results in spite of my significant exercise efforts. I am now about to take the plunge again & try the diet again. My Usana supplies are coming tomorrow. A little nervous but I remember how good I felt on it so I expect it to be successful.

I did the Usana reset last summer and while I didn’t lose any weight, it helped reshape my eating habits for about 6 months, until Christmas hit and all the sugary deliciousness was around. The biggest change was my sugar intake, I went from taking 3 sugars in my coffee, to taking 1 and still sort of finding it too sweet. For me the first day was the worst, I was actually crying from how hungry I was. However by day 5, I was pretty pleased with the meals. I ordered the shakes for several months after for meal replacements, but nothing really beats a good home cooked meal so I stopped. I plan on buying a package of the shakes and bars and doing this again, but without the flavours I didn’t enjoy. Overall I recommend the product to anyone looking to make healthier choices, as it makes the change so much easier.
